Background
Paul joined
Govett Quilliam in 1992 as part of our Family Team under
Noel Walsh and Emma Smith who have since been appointed
as Family Court Judges in 1999 and 2004 respectively.
Paul became a Partner on 1 January 2000 and now heads
the Family Team which comprises six Lawyers who all have
very busy practices.
Paul has wide ranging
experience in all aspects of family law and is regularly appointed
by the Family Court as the Lawyer for Child in contested cases
about parenting orders. Paul is a trustee of the Taranaki branch
of Big Brothers Big Sisters which is an international charity that
organises adult mentors to guide young people (children) who are
at risk.
Paul enjoys all sports,
particularly rugby, cricket and golf. Paul is the coach of the
Fitzroy Primary School Incrediball cricket team that his eight
year old son plays in. Paul is married to Laurie Shearer and has
three children. He would like to play more golf than he does but
the weekends tend to be a blur with a young family. |
