Background
Laurie
joined Govett Quilliam in May 2001 as part of our Family
and Employment Team. She was appointed as an Associate
of the Firm on 1 April 2005 and in October 2008
recommenced practicing following fourteen months
maternity leave. She is currently working part time in
our Inglewood Office where she is specialising in
relationship property work.
Laurie has experience
in all facets of family law and is a well respected member of the
Taranaki family bar.
In 2006, Laurie’s experience in family matters
resulted in the Family Court appointing Laurie as “Lawyer for
Child” to represent children in custody and other family disputes.
She enjoys representing children in Family Court proceedings and
such role is well suited to her caring nature and proactive and
pragmatic work ethic.
Laurie has provided
advice to clients of the Taranaki Community Law Centre since
commencing in 2001 and further provides legal advice to the
Taranaki Citizens Advice Bureau.
When out of the
office, Laurie enjoys cooking, reading, body jam, body balance,
walking, socialising and spending time with family and friends. |
