Background
Alex joined Govett Quilliam in 2000
as a graduate member of the Family Team and also
practicing in the Criminal Court. Alex has since
focused his practice on family law and civil matters.
Alex has diverse experience having spent the
period between April 2004 and October 2007 practicing in
Wellington where he spent time working in a senior barrister’s
chambers, as counsel for the Department of Child, Youth and Family
Services, and for a private firm in Wellington. Alex is
experienced in resolving issues for clients in a wide range of
areas - as well as acting for private clients, Alex accepts court
appointments to represent children in Family Court cases.
Alex has returned to Govett Quilliam to make a
permanent commitment to Taranaki and its people. Alex is a
regular member of community based organisations and is Vice
President of the Friends of the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery
Committee and council member of the Taranaki branch of the New
Zealand Law Society.
Alex is of Atihaunui a Paparangi, Tuwharetoa,
Ngai Tumapuhia Rangi, and Ngai Tahu descent.
Alex is married with
one young child and enjoys spending time with family,
participating in social sports, attending local events and arts
and culture. |
