Lauren Wallace
Lauren joined Govett Quilliam in 2006 and became a partner in 2010.
Expertise
Lauren specialises in resource management, local government and property law and also in general civil matters. She has previously worked as a barrister in a specialist environmental law chambers in Auckland and also for a leading local government firm in Nelson.
Lauren has acted for individuals, companies, community organisations and local and regional authorities. She has been involved in a variety of resource management matters, including: coastal and rural subdivisions; residential, retail and commercial developments; forestry, quarrying and aquaculture; designations; oil and gas industry matters; conservation and heritage preservation and access and transportation.
She has also acted for a wide range of clients in a number of civil litigation proceedings, concerning matters such as contractual disputes, building and construction law, bankruptcy, insolvency and general property law disputes.
Outside of Govett Quilliam
Lauren is the regional chairperson of the Resource Management Law Association and the honorary solicitor for the Friends of the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery. She has also worked at WOMAD as an Artist Liaison Manager over past few years.
Personal Interests
Lauren enjoys running, biking, tramping, skiing and travel. She is a keen supporter of the arts and New Zealand music and a self confessed “foodie”.
