Court and Disputes Resolution

If a dispute exists, there are a myriad of ways in which it can be resolved. We have extensive experience to provide clients with tailored advice to resolve the issue in the most appropriate way, whether through alternative dispute resolution processes or by obtaining a determination from a tribunal or Court.

Our litigation team has a long and proud history. By way of history, four of our former partners have been appointed as High Court Judges, namely John Quilliam, Sir Peter Quilliam, John Laurenson QC, and Timothy Brewer and two partners have been appointed District Court Judges, namely Noel Walsh and Emma Smith. We have represented our clients in the District Court, High Court and Court of Appeal and regularly assist clients to achieve dispute resolution through mediation, negotiation and arbitration.

In our experience, mediation, both informal and formal, is often successful as it enables parties to sit around a table to discuss the issue in dispute openly and to find a mutually acceptable resolution. It also means the final outcome remains in the hands of the parties. Sometimes however, a suitably qualified independent expert will be required to assist in a dispute resolution process.  Adjudications and arbitrations are flexible mechanisms which are both efficient and cost effective to resolve all manners of disputes.  Our litigation team has extensive experience in assisting clients through both the mediation and arbitration process.

Where litigation is necessary, our team comprises specialist civil and criminal advocates.

Civil Litigation - In our experience, thorough preparation is the key to a successful outcome in civil litigation.  Our team will work closely with you to ensure your objectives are achieved.

Criminal Litigation - Our criminal litigators have acted both as prosecutors and as defence counsel and are experienced in all facets of criminal law.  Whether representing clients for minor traffic infringements or for something more serious, we will use the skills we have developed to obtain the best possible result.
